The Future of Carson Palmer

Posted on January 11, 2011 by

This offseason is about finding a place for some of the NFL’s most talked about quarterbacks. Everyone knows that the quarterback is the most important position on the football field, however, there are plenty of quarterbacks that are displaced these days and will be looking for a new home, so lets take a look at these quarterbacks and see where their future might lie.

Carson Palmer

The Bengals QB is still under contract to his team, but he is considering retirement if they don’t trade him. It’s impossible to say whether he is the problem in Cincinnati or if the Bengals are, but both have been very bad at time. So, the thinking here is that he’d be best off someplace else. Putting him on a team like Seattle where he can team up with his college coach Pete Carroll would be a very good idea for him. If he could handle the discipline then the Carolina Panthers would be a good fit.

Carolina has a ton of draft picks and so they could meet the demand for Palmer. This could work out for the Bengals who have the fourth pick in the draft and at least four quarterbacks who could be ready in the next season.

The Bengals have a big decision to make as far as Palmers future, but the fact is that something needs to change and it needs to change quickly. So, if the Bengals aren’t interested in firing Marvin Lewis, then they need to be interested in saying hello to the possibility of life without Carson Palmer.
