Ten NFL Players Face Conduct Policy Infractions Since Lockout Began
Posted on April 8, 2011 by James W
The NFL lockout has prevented many NFL players from being able to participate in team events and practices. However, as the saying goes idle hands are the devil’s workshop and since the lockout was in effect on March 12 over 10 NFL players have been arrested.
Players who have recently had a brush with the law include:
- William Moore of the Atlanta Falcons who was arrested in April for speeding at extreme speeds, failure to appear in court and driving with a suspended license.
- Kenny Britt of the Tennessee Titans who was arrested April for alluding police officers, lying to a public employee, hindering apprehension and obstructing the function of a governmental employee.
- Mike Vrabel of the Kansas City Chiefs who was arrested for theft.
- Louis Murphy of the Oakland Raiders who was arrested for playing his music too loud.
- Aqib Talib of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
- Jason Peters of the Philadelphia Eagles who was arrested for violating the city’s noise ordinance and of resisting arrest.
- Johnny Jolly of the Green Bay Packer’s was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with the pure intent to distribute to others.
- Bryan McCann of the Dallas Cowboys who was arrested for public intoxication.
- Current free agent, Mario Henderson who was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm after being stopped for playing music too loud.
- Chris Cook of the Minnesota Vikings who had a misdemeanor charge of carrying a firearm.
Although the NFL is on a current lockout the VP of labor policy and player development has made it clear that all players will be held to the personal-conduct policy the NFL has in place and suspensions could be possible when the lockout ends.
